COLLETT AS

France is one of Norway’s most important import and export trading partners, and the commercial exchange between the countries is growing steadily. The bilateral cooperation is also growing in the oil & gas, aerospace, hydroelectric, and geologic industries.

A company aiming to grow or enter new markets, in Norway as in France, often finds that it is appropriate to hire a local employee. Thus they may often benefit from a well established business network, and it will facilitate the market approach and the contact with the policymakers. Moreover, the local resources are familiar with the local laws and rules, which is a particularly strategic aspect in the set-up process. The knowledge of the local culture is another parameter that can be crucial to avoid certain pitfalls. It is by understanding the local cultural differences that a company is able to ensure an effective implementation and good results on the specific markets.

Understanding the customer’s unique needs

Collett has a long experience in recruitment and pays special attention to the customers’ specific needs. What type of resource can help the company to achieve its objectives? Which skill is needed for success in a given position, and what is the reputation of a given university in the local country? What kind of personality will be most suitable for the position in order to achieve the objectives? Must the employee be conscientious and solicitous for details, or rather know how to take initiatives and complete them successfully? By having a clear vision of the key elements for success in a position, Collett can contribute in finding the appropriate resources.

Efficient management of the recruitment project

Whether the need is to recruit a Norwegian employee in France or vice versa, the effective project management is done through cooperation with local partners who know their market. The recruitment process is standardized, which ensures the quality and transparency methods, whether the project takes place in Norway or in France. In summary, these methods are:

- Definition and understanding of customer needs
-  Advertising or direct approach to relevant candidates
- Structured interviews
- Personality tests (international tests certified by DNV GL, adapted to the specific country)
- Proficiency tests
- Reference check (the knowledge of local culture ensures a better evaluation of the candidate’s references)

Outsourcing

Collett AS’s mission is to make life easier for companies by being an efficient contributor. A successful recruitment is relatively time consuming, and Collet, as project manager, takes the responsibility during the process so that the companies can focus on the core activity and the development of their respective professions.
