Take part in the 2020 edition of the French-Norwegian E-Forum organised by the CCFN and dedicated to the theme: "A Smart & Clean Ocean"

Last year's edition of the French-Norwegian Days, "Building a Sustainable Future, Together", encountered a real success. We are very glad to have welcomed more than 200 corporates, institutions, technology transfer offices and start-ups from both countries, all gathered to present their solutions and get inspired by the challenges and opportunities for French-Norwegian cooperation in the domains of Smart Cities, Green Mobility and Clean Energy.

This year, given the current circumstances, we will experiment a new digital format with an entire week dedicated to the theme “A Smart & Clean Ocean", from 13 to 16 October 2020. This E-Forum will include technical sessions featuring selected keynote speakers and several online workshops focusing on key topics within the maritime sector. It will also be an opportunity to take part in online BtoB matchmaking meetings aimed at connecting innovative French and Norwegian corporations, institutions and start-ups.

Embracing the path towards a sustainable ocean

While presenting substantial opportunities for business and economic growth, the ocean and its biodiversity are under threats caused by negative externalities of resources exploitation and neglects generated offshore and from shore. Among the threats: plastic pollution and over-exploitation of the ocean's resources.

The marine/maritime sectors but also governments and institutions are shaping new strategies to raise awareness and reduce the negative impact of business activities on the seas and oceans, while encouraging a more sustainable blue growth. The preservation and restoration of the ocean are gaining importance within the industries’ focus, but many more efforts are yet to be planned.

The COVID-19 crisis has brought about a number of unforeseen challenges to which the industry will need to adapt in order to fully recover. On the other hand, it might also lead to a renewed focus on innovation and green technologies in the near future.

The French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the French Maritime Cluster, the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique and a selection of other partners, will organise a French-Norwegian E-Forum aiming at strengthening bilateral cooperation and innovation for a sustainable ocean.
