France and Norway are strengthening their green industrial cooperation.

On Tuesday, 16th of January 2024, an important French-Norwegian partnership on Green Industrial Transformation was signed.

During the French-Norwegian Green Industry Forum co-organised by the CCFN, Minister of Industry Jan Christian Vestre and Thomas Courbe, General Director of the Directorate General for Entreprise (DGE) signed a Joint Declaration of Intent for a green industrial partnership. This decision will strengthen the already close industrial and energy relations between the two countries, contributing to the accelerated development of net-zero technologies.

France and Norway will reinforce their partnership for the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), offshore wind & solar industries, critical raw materials and green maritime technology.

The cooperation in offshore wind will be deepened, especially since EDF Renewable and Norwegian Deep Wind Offshore announced on the same day that they will expand their collaboration.

This agreement will also be instrumental in speeding up the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) collaboration, including the Northern Light project.

The signing of the industrial partnership took place at the annual French-Norwegian Green Industry Forum held at Bpifrance and organized by the French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce with the Norwegian Embassy in Paris, The French Embassy in Norway, Innovation Norway and Team France Export. The forum brought together several key players, and over 200 Norwegian and French participants took part.

We would like to thank our gratitude to all the speakers and participants. Special thanks to our partners: Bpifrance, The Research Council of Norway and the French Institute in Norway.

A special acknowledgment to our sponsors: BNP Paribas, EDF, Equinor, Statkraft, Technip Energies, the Arctic Cluster Team, CGG, DNV, NanoPow, Teréga and TotalEnergies.
