World War II

  • 1940: The Gestapo storms the CCFN’s offices and stops its activity.
  • 23/05/1942: The CCFN is still unable to restart its activities and only send food to the Norwegians living in the French occupied territory.
  • 1946: For the first time the French and Norwegian troops have fought together. The CCFN has lost many of its administrators during the war. Some of them were deported to Auschwitz. 
  • 1948: In his speech, Ambassador Blondel emphasizes the importance of the French government’s international trade relations, despite many difficulties paving the way for international trade after the war. The new trade agreement between France and Norway will surely prove to be an effective instrument for promoting the Chamber of Commerce
