Norway, a world’s laboratory for sustainable mobility

Norway is leading the way for the transition to zero emission electric cars. The growth of the electrical car market in Norway has been exponential leading the fleet of plug-in electric vehicles in Norway largest per capita in the world, with Oslo recognized as the EV capital. As of June 2017, the market concentration was 33 registered plug-in cars per 1,000 people, 15 times higher than the U.S then the world's largest country market.

Norway's fleet of electric cars is one of the cleanest in the world because 98% of the electricity generated in the country comes from hydropower. While the Norwegian EV market share is stabilizing on 20 % most other countries hold around 1 % market share. This implies that the Norwegian EV market is approximately 5 years ahead most other countries. This makes the Norwegian market an interesting and beneficial case for other countries.

Join this seminar to learn about how Norway, and in particular its capital Oslo, managed to achieve its sustainable mobility strategy, next steps forward, and how France and Norway could cooperate on sustainable mobility projects.
