Celebrating 120 Years of Partnership and Innovation: A Tribute to BNP Paribas in Norway
The French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce sends its warmest congratulations to one of our most valued and loyal members, BNP Paribas, on the incredible achievement of their 120th anniversary in Norway. As the global bank with the strongest local presence today, their journey is a great example of long-term commitment, and is closely linked to the story of Norway's industrial development.
From their key role in funding Norsk Hydro in 1905, a project that helped build Norwegian industry and fight global food shortages, BNP Paribas has always been at the center of progress. This strong connection to Norway is also seen in their lasting partnership with our Chamber. Since our own founding in 1919, we have been proud to work with them. This partnership is perfectly shown by people like Jacques Allier, a key manager at the bank who played an important role during the second war and also served as President of our Chamber of Commerce, creating a powerful collaboration between us.
