eZ Systems is the laureate of the Fransk-Norsk Trophée 2016

The French-Norwegian Day is an annual event organized by the French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce in Oslo. This day gathers the French-Norwegian business community for a conference, workshops and gala dinner. The theme this year was “Digital Transformation”. The day was divided in three parts:

  • A conference at BI Norwegian Business School in the morning
  • Two parallel workshops in the afternoon, focusing on Smart City and Industry 4.0. (see programme here)
  • An exclusive Gala Dinner at Gamle Logen and the award of the prestigious Fransk-Norsk Trophée 2016.

120 participants from 70 Norwegian and French companies attended the conference, and 130 guests joined the gala dinner. This event was made possible by our sponsors and partners, including BI Norwegian Business School, Bureau Veritas, Capgemini Consulting, Engie, Sopra Steria, Schneider Electric, Peugeot/Citroën/DS automobiles, Total, the French-Norwegian Foundation, City of Oslo, INSA Toulouse, Oliviers&Co, Vinhuset, Åpent Bakeri, SebastienBruno and Air France-KLM.

The conference was opened by Inge Jan Henjesand, President of BI Norwegian Business School, Sindre Walderhaug, President of the French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, and H.E. Jean-François Dobelle, Ambassador of France to Norway.

Highly recognized speakers animated the conference with Espen Andersen, Director of the center for Digitization at BI Norwegian Business School, as moderator. H.E. Rolf Einar Fife, Ambassador of Norway to France gave the closing remarks.

In the afternoon, two parallel workshops gathered a group of 20-25 participants each, for a reflection on Smart Cities and Industry 4.0. Key players from France and Norway shared their views about these topics, and the presentations were followed by a debate. This day connects French and Norwegian participants from industries that do not necessarily meet each other and facilitates the discussion towards concrete and innovative projects.

The Gala dinner closed the day elegantly with a three-course gourmet dinner and a musical animation orchestrated by Andreas Sønning, Artistic Director, and his talented team:

  • Mirjam Kammler (Cello)
  • Frank Havrøy (Baritone)
  • Torgeir Koppang (Piano)

Geir Lippestad, Vice Mayor for Business Development and Public Ownership city of Oslo closed the dinner with the traditional Norwegian “Takk for maten”.

The Fransk-Norsk Trophée 2016 was awarded to eZ Systems. The French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce and its partner Air France-KLM handed over the symbolic bronze statue to Aleksander Farstad, CEO of the company, and his team, Bertrand Maugain, Eiren Birkeland and Abdul Zamir.

Founded in 1999 by two brothers, Aleksander and Bård Farstad, eZ Systems (lien) has consistently continued to grow to become an international leader in the field of content management systems, helping companies deliver digital experiences. The Fransk-Norsk Trophée rewards every year a company, an organization, or a person, who has significantly contributed to the French-Norwegian exchanges by its dynamism. The jury highlighted the work done by eZ on entrepreneurship and the development of partnerships with French actors.

- “We are extremely proud to receive this prestigious award which represents a significant acknowledgement of the success of eZ. We managed to establish ourselves on the French market and to build relationships with several key business leaders including BPCE (Caisse d’Epargne) and Crédit Agricole, Mondadori, Prismapress, Lagardère, Orange, Michelin and the French authorities.”

- “We are passionate about the added value of the content and to work every day to offer digital solutions creating positive user experience for our customers. Originally, we are a Norwegian company, but we are also global, with strategic entities in France and Norway. Considering the companies that won the trophée in previous years, we are in good company, says Aleksander Farstad, Director of eZ Systems.”
