Nexans Norway received the Fransk-Norsk Trophée 2017 during the gala dinner of the French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce at Gamle Logen, Thursday the 19th of October.

The Fransk-Norsk Trophée is an award given by the French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce* in partnership with Air France KLM. It rewards a company, an organisation or an individual, having contributed in a special way to the development of trade and/or industrial cooperation between the two countries. It is the only award of its kind, which concerns trade between France and Norway.

 

This award is not essentially based on quantitative results, but mostly on qualitative ones. The candidates are judged according to the following criteria: strategy, innovation and progress, development and commitment towards the community, development of partnerships, public responsibility and financial criteria.

 

By this Trophy, this year the Jury* valued a French company whose activity in Norway is exceptional compared to the ones they have in other countries. Nexans Norway has three production sites in Norway, one in Japan and one laying vessel they export worldwide their turnkey solutions. With 1 500 employees, it is by the number of employees the biggest French branch in Norway. Nexans Norway is contributing to help Norway to become the green battery of Europe, installing interconnectors with the continent. In October, they signed a new contract with BKK and will install a submarine cable in Norway at a sea depth of 526 meters, breaking its previous world record of the world's longest and deepest submarine cable 420kv system. Nexans Norway also deliver umbilicals for the O&G industry, fiber optic and energy solutions for the fish farming or wind industry.

With roots in Norway since 1915, Nexans Norway used to be known as Skandinavisk Kabel- og GummifabriKker, then Standard Telefon og Kabelafabrikk A/S.

 

*The French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce is a bilateral non-profit members’ organisation established in 1919, with offices in Paris and Oslo. It animates a network of more than 200 French and Norwegian companies.
